JOSEPH L. WELCH
Chairman, President & CEO
ITC Holdings Corp.

As Chairman, President and CEO, Mr. Welch is responsible for the strategic vision and overall business operation of ITC Holdings and its subsidiaries. Under Mr. Welch’s leadership, ITC and its subsidiaries have been singularly focused on investing in the high¬voltage transmission system in order to provide best¬in¬class service to customers. He established ITCTransmission as a stand¬alone entity from its parent corporation in 2003 and as the country’s first, and to date, only publicly¬traded, independent transmission company in 2005.

Mr. Welch has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kansas and is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Michigan. Mr. Welch is a member of the Board of Directors of the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce, has been appointed to the Great Lakes Wind Council by Michigan Governor Jennifer M.
